Our commitment is to support more people leaving prison into employment as the key part of their journey towards their new life.

The No Going Back project is responding specifically to the huge demand of employers to fill their skills gaps.  We are keen for all organisations to get involved and offer jobs in a wide range of sectors, to give as many people as possible the chance to participate.

If you are an employer who would like to be involved in this exciting project to help someone turn their life around we are training people for a wide range of industries and roles including construction, hospitality, cleaning, facilities management, administration, engineering, HGV driving and beyond.  We match all candidates to the jobs and they are fully supported as are employers so they can recruit with reassurance and confidence as we make the process as seamless as possible for both parties.

We prepare participants for the specific job opportunities on offer with skills training, including employability, to ensure they are work ready and well matched. We work alongside the participant every step of the way to assist them with their passage into work whilst simultaneously supporting the employer, guiding them through the process and managing expectations. Our support remains with both sides for as long as necessary.

Our Engagement Managers work with you and will:

  • Understand your recruitment needs. They will spend time learning about your company and its values to help us better understand the requirements of role we are recruiting
  • Help with practical advice on how you might develop or improve your recruitment process to ensure it is equitable and inclusive with clear objectives that can be communicated to staff, candidates and the public
  • Talk you through what disclosure is needed and when, the levels of formal DBS criminal record checks and how convictions can be “spent”.
  • Conduct all necessary risk assessment checks to ensure that you have all the relevant information to make an informed decision. All participants go through a thorough screening process to ensure they are work ready and suitably qualified. We collect information such as unspent convictions, and identify any barriers to work to enable us to give an honest assessment of their readiness to work
  • Help with the creation of an application form and advise on interview format
  • Ensure that after an offer of employment has been made the relevant documents are in place including a Safeguarding Policy
  • Help with onboarding to ensure their passage into work is as seamless as possible.
  • Help candidates with equipment and travel to work if required

Employing people from prison is a wise business decision:

  • 79% of people think that businesses employing ex-offenders are making a positive contribution to society
  • 92% of inclusive employers say it’s enhanced their reputation – often helping them win new contracts
  • Two thirds of companies that employ ex-offenders would recommend others do the same
